We Dig for Fossils, Not Your Data

Fossil Dig sends you into the earth to uncover prehistoric treasures. Our approach to your data is the reverse of excavation: we leave everything buried, untouched, and exactly where it belongs — on your own device. Your high score is stored in localStorage under the key foss_best. Like a well-preserved fossil, it stays put. We cannot unearth it from our servers because it is not on our servers.

Server Logs and External Requests

Loading Fossil Dig sends one HTTP request to our server. The server logs your IP address, browser identifier, timestamp, and URL path. These access logs are used for server monitoring and security. They are automatically deleted after 30 days. Fossil Dig uses the Cabin Sketch typeface from Google Fonts — one CDN request at page load, per Google's own privacy terms. No analytics platform, advertising network, or session-recording tool is embedded in Fossil Dig. We say this not as a boast but as a verifiable technical fact.

Children, Rights, and Policy Updates

Fossil Dig is open to all ages — future palaeontologists welcome. We collect no personal data from any player. No parental action is required. Any future data practice change will be documented here before it is activated, with a specific description of what is collected and why.

Your Data Rights

Players in jurisdictions with formal privacy rights — including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and similar legislation — may request information about data we hold. Because we retain only brief, anonymised server-access logs, such requests will ordinarily confirm that we hold no personal data linked to any individual. No Sale, No Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any data with third parties for commercial purposes. If we were ever legally compelled to disclose server-log data — for example, by a valid court order — we would comply with applicable law. We would not do so voluntarily for commercial reasons, because we have no commercial relationship with any data buyer or broker.
